On behalf of the residents of our community, I would like to welcome you to South Woodham Ferrers, which has a population of around 18,500 people. We have designed our website with the intention of providing information for residents and visitors alike and also to exhibit our peaceful riverside town, which is located on the north bank of the River Crouch in the Borough of Chelmsford, Essex, UK. Please take the time to stay a while and learn more about South Woodham Ferrers.

The Town Council's responsibilities include the environment, leisure and planning. We also maintain a community directory of adult and youth clubs and associations plus a local Events Diary which can be found on this website. If you want your club or organisation included, or your event entered into the diary, (subject to the usual restrictions) then please let us know.
