Local Plan Consultation Preferred Options

Published: 04 July 2017

Recording of and viewing comments

Everyone who made a comment on the Preferred Options consultation documents has now been sent an acknowledgement email or letter. All the individual repsonses to the Preferred Options Local Plan, the Sustainability Appraisal, Non-Technical Summary and Habitats Regulations Assessment, can be viewed on Chelmsford City Council's online Consultation Portal.

Submissions to the Call Sites 2017will be published later this year.

A guide on how to view comments can also be viewed on the website.

Email outage

Due to unforseen circumstances which were outside the Council's control, it was not possible to receive some emails sent to planning.policy@chelmsford.gov.uk from mid-afternoon on 9 May until around 10am on 10 May. People who sent an email during this period should have received a 'bounce back' e-mail identifying the issue. Some people were able to resubmit their comments.

Everyone who made a comment on the Preferred Options consultation documents has now been sent an acknowledgement email or letter. People who think they submitted a comment but have not received an acknowledgement by Monday 10 July and who still have evidence of sending their original e-mail, should call the helpline 01245 606330.

This did not affect other ways of making comments, such as the Consultation Portal, which was available throughout the whole consultation period.

Feedback and Committee Report

A Consultation Feedback Note setting out the initial feedback has been produced and the Council's Development Policy Committee will discuss this on Thursday 13 July.

*Please be aware that it is not yet time for discussions to take place on any proposed site locations at this meeting. The Consultation Feedback Note simply summarises the number of responses received and reports on the main issues raised from comments which have been analysed to date.

The Consultation Feedback Note and covering report can be read on the Development Policy Committee page from late Tuesday 4 July.

It is essential to fully analyse the consultations and we are continuing to study the feedback to the Preferred Options consultations. We will use the responses, alongside the evident base and Government policy to progress with the next stage of the Local Plan. This will be called Local Plan - Pre Submission. Updates will be issued on its progress in the months ahead.
