Chelmsford Local Plan

The Chelmsford Local Plan was adopted in 2020 by Chelmsford City Council, and sets out how much new development is needed and identifies land for housing, schools, shops and jobs as well as areas for protection, such as open space and sites important for wildlife. Chelmsford City Council have undertaken two previous stages of consultation in 2022 and 2024 and have considered all the responses alongside updated evidence, national planning policy, new local priorities, and monitoring data to progress to the Pre-Submission stage.

During 2025, they are reviewing this plan and wish the views of local residents, organisations and local town and parish councils.
