Our Mayor was delighted to formally unveil the completed artwork for one of the sluice gates at the Washlands in Inchbonnie Road.
A once-vandalised sluice outlet gate block has been given a
striking new lease of life thanks to a Town Council led mural project, bringing
colour, creativity, and nature to the heart of South Woodham Ferrers.
Local artist Danny Bench has completed a stunning nature-themed mural on the previously graffiti-covered structure, located near the town’s riverside walk along Inchbonnie Road. The artwork, which features native flora and fauna, was commissioned and funded by South Woodham Ferrers Town Council as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing public spaces and promoting local talent.
The project was made possible with the kind cooperation of the Environment Agency, who granted permission for the mural to be painted on their property. Their support has helped turn a site once marred by vandalism into a visual celebration of the Fens natural beauty.
