At the Town Council meeting held on the 14th May 2019, the Town Council elected Councillor Alan Shearring as Town Mayor for the forthcoming year. Councillor Shearring represents the Chetwood Ward.
The Town Mayor expressed his thanks to the previous Town Mayor Councillor Wyatt and Deputy Town Mayor Councillor Kevin Golding for their work during 2018 - 19.
The newly appointed Deputy Town Mayor is Town Councillor Jackie Birch who represents the Elmwood Ward. The Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor has jointly chosen the Dogs Trust as the Charity of the Year.
