Environment

During 2023, we are re-issuing our new Environmental Policy for the Town Council.

In the past we have produced our Tool Kit and also looked at how we can minimise our impact, while still delivering much needed services.

When we think of the environment, we think of green spaces, open fields, trees and rivers. But we must remember the streets and town centre. Keeping things tidy and not polluting our area. Making sure we recycle and take items to our local ECC recycling centre for disposal.

Take a look at our Action Plan section to see what steps we are taking.

Green Box Recycling Awareness

Do you really know fully what you can put in your Green recycling box?

Did you know there are over 40 types of items that can be recycled with these boxes alone! Take a look HERE

They collect small electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) that are no bigger than your green recycling box. You need to out the item in a separate plastic bag beside green recycling box on your collection day. You should leave any cables or plugs attached.

Look for the symbol below, to see if you can return them. Large items can be returned to the shop you purchased the item from.

Over to you

It is never too young to get involved in helping to keep things tidy. WELL DONE to the Tabrums Beavers who did a litter pick around town. The Town Hall can lend equipment to any group who wishes to organise their own, or you can take part in our regular volunteer sessions.

Bin Collections by Chelmsford City

The Town Council is not responsible for bins or supplying replacement items.

The current Tuesday 'B" schedule is as below:

In September 2023, we carried out a clear up of the Fen alongside Chelmsford City Council and local residents

We are proud to be members of the Open Spaces Society, who help keep our Footpaths and Byways open for everyone to enjoy.

We continue to monitor and report blocked or overgrown footpaths to Essex Highways, and you can do it too, via their website.
