Open Spaces

South Woodham Ferrers manages a selection of outside spaces. These include:

 Victoria Fields, Fenn Park, Collingwood Pond, Garden of Remembrance, Village Hall Blue Cage and Playground, John Cox Playing Fields, South Woodham Fen (Fenn) , Millennium Square and the War Memorial,

Uniform Youth – owned, but managed by the local groups

South Woodham Ferrers -owned, but managed by the Woodham Allotment Association.

South Woodham Ferrers Bowls Green - owned, but managed by the local Bowls Club

The Bandstand only- not any surrounding land, Champions Manor Hall/ Town Council Offices

Some of our Town Bins. Normally these are blue for identification, but not always, Dog bins are installed by the Town Council, but we do not empty them. This is the responsibility of the City Council, Certain benches around the town, but not all of them, Life Ring along Fenn Creek Nr Celeborn Street

We are NOT responsible for :

Saltcoats Park, Compass Gardens, Frankland Fields, Trinty Square, The Village Hall or Playing Field or Radars Hut, or any of the hedges, any of the other playgrounds or small parks or green spaces, Streets,roads, footways or alleyways, footpaths over land or fields, land around the railway, other than over at the Fen;The crossing itself is owned by Network Rail.Any of the car parks in the town centre area, including Asda property, South Woodham Ferrers Sports Centre, Marsh Farm Country Park or its pathways, Mark Farm Park. 

Day to Day management is done via the Town Council Officers, officers and Clerk. Projects and improvements or maintenance are controlled by the Town Council Planning and Environment Committee, often taking advice from the Open Spaces Working Party. Some decisions are made by full council. Meetings are open to the public and you can come along to these, or make comments via the Town Clerk.
