British Science Week - Community Grants

The Community Grants for British Science Week 2025 are open for applications!

Supported by UK Research and Innovation, Community Grants help eligible community groups to organise events and activities for their audiences during British Science Week (7 – 16 March 2025), expanding the number of people who enjoy and take part in science.

For British Science Week 2025, grants of £500 and £1000 are being offered to community groups that work with people who are typically underrepresented in science, and which set out to deliver an event or activity that involves the local community, challenges science stereotypes and inspires ongoing science engagement.

Before submitting your form, be sure to consult the Community Grant guidelines to find all the information you need on how to apply, and whether your community group is eligible. Please direct any queries to communities@britishscienceassociation.org
Applications close on 5 November at 4.59pm

Chess - BIG Sleepout

Have you ever wanted to make a positive impact on homelessness in your community but don’t know how? Join the CHESS BIG Sleepout! Friday, 22nd November 2024 at Chelmsford Cathedral.

By signing up for the CHESS SleepOut challenge and getting friends and family to sponsor you, you will experience what it is like to be homeless for one night by sleeping rough in the grounds of the Cathedral, open to the elements at the height of winter but raising much needed funds at the same time.

Money raised helps CHESS to provide support and temporary accommodation for adults experiencing homelessness whilst working with them to get their lives back on track.

CHESS would be delighted for you to take on this challenge, either as part of a group with work colleagues, friends, family or on your own. Registration is £10 per person with a minimum fundraising amount of £100.
