Let's Get Green

On Saturday, 14th June 2025, the Town Mayor attended the South Woodham Ferrers u3a Eco Group's "Let's Get Green" event. This gathering, focused on promoting sustainable living and eco-conscious practices, provided a platform for community members to explore various green initiatives and innovations.

During his visit, the Mayor highlighted the Council's dedicated efforts to foster a more sustainable and environmentally friendly community. He proudly announced the arrival of the electric van, emphasising their role in reducing carbon emissions and promoting cleaner air. Furthermore, he discussed the installation of solar panels on Champions Manor Hall, a move that not only decreases reliance on non-renewable energy sources but also sets a precedent for future sustainable projects.

The Mayor took the opportunity to engage with various stalls and displays that epitomised the event's green ethos. Among the highlights were:

  • Electric Vehicles: Attendees had the chance to learn about the latest advancements in electric car technology and the benefits of transitioning to zero-emission vehicles.
