William de Ferrers School - Safe SPace for Girls

Published: 20 March 2026

Students of William de Ferrers School have been collaborating with Make Space for Girls and Social Place, alongside town council partners to rethink how South Woodham Ferrers works for them.

After months of hard work, they recently presented their vision to improve our town. Their ideas included social swings and a book exchange in Compass Gardens, benches and tables with aesthetic lighting in the town centre, and a community art wall and outdoor cinema at the Village Hall. South Woodham Ferrers Town Council will now review these proposals to decide which project will move from the drawing board to reality. Well done to all involved in this exciting project.
