Official Opening of South Woodham’s own Community Book Box at the Community Orchard at Saltcoats Park

On Friday, the Town Mayor - Cllr. Bob Massey - with his wife and consort - Ali Massey - joined the Chelmsford City Council Cabinet Member for Greener Chelmsford - Cllr. Rose Moore - at the official opening of South Woodham’s own Community Book Box at the Community Orchard at Saltcoats Park.

The Community Book Box scheme seeks to encourage reading by providing free books, with the option for readers to also leave books for others.

The Book Boxes were crafted for Chelmsford City Council by the Chelmsford Men’s Shed and also contain bookmarks designed by local youngsters.

Also in attendance were Town and City Councillors Donna Eley and Terry Sherlock, Town Councillors Mia Barnett and Alicia Cash, along with City Council parks officers and volunteers.
