Event details
Date: Wednesday 25 November 2026
Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Venue: Maldon Town Hall, Market Hill, Maldon, Essex CM9 4RL
Purpose
This event supports Peer & Community Leaders to identify and develop local community engagement opportunities as part of m-powered’s national NHS Online engagement programme.
What are they trying to achieve?
M-powered People and Communities is leading in-person community engagement for NHS Online. This is a new service launching from 2027 that will give people in England the option to access some planned specialist care digitally through the NHS App.
We want to speak to a wide range of communities to better understand:
- What people think online hospital care is and what it might look like
- What could get in the way of using it and what would need to change
- What would make it genuinely worth using and worth recommending
The first clinical areas expected to be supported are:
- Glaucoma, cataracts and medical retina conditions
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Iron deficiency anaemia
- Prostate conditions
- Menopause and menstrual issues
NHS Online will be optional. People who prefer or need face-to-face care will continue to access existing services as usual.
NHS Online is designed to:
- Offer more choice and convenience
- Provide faster access to specialist care
- Reduce waiting times by using specialist teams across England
- Free up face-to-face appointments for those who need them most
- Support more efficient use of NHS resources
